RULES:

Shoot the enemies to conserve your life. Otherwise, you will probably be hit. If you are hit, you lose a life. Similar to Maximum Force and Area 51, you won't know exactly when you'll get hit. It's random, affected by certain factors. Even projectiles are not a sure shot, although they are more likely to be. However, the longer a bad guy is alive, the more likely you are likely to be hit. Certain enemies are more likely to hit you. How recently you got hit is also a factor. Getting through without getting hit seems to increase the chances of an enemy getting a hit on the first shot.

To reload, fire off the screen.

The get-shot-and-lose-your-weapon rule is here, but there seems to be a rather long 'latency' period after you pick up a weapon where you can be shot and still maintain your weapon. I've been shot well after picking up a gun and still had it.

While on the subject, projectiles (missiles, grenades, dynamite, knives, etc.) can be shot down to save yourself.

Don't shoot the innocents. Doing so will cost you a life. You WON'T lose your guns though. The penalty is good one time only, so shooting them again before they vanish is free.

Powerups are found throughout the game, usually hidden in destructible items. Shoot a powerup to grab it.

Red barrels litter many areas. Hitting them causes them to explode and can kill nearby enemies. Some control circuitry can also be shot and electrocute nearby enemies. Finally, enemy rockets, dynamite, and grenades will take out anyone if detonated prematurely.

There are a variety of special score boosters. Here they are:
Streak: Make several hits on enemies without missing.
Headshot Streak: Hit a bunch of enemies in the head without missing.
(insert #) At Once: Kill more than 1 enemy with a single shot: barrels, rockets, etc. This will add however many kills you make to your hit percentage. Thus, it is possible to get more than 100% accuracy.
(Insert #) Hit Combo: Shoot an enemy at least once after killing him.

There are many awards you can be given at the end of a level if you meet certain criteria. Most are self-explanatory, but here they are anyway. Notice that the criteria for some contradict each other. Also, several awards are related, but you will only be awarded the highest one you earn. This means that if award A requires 3 kills, and award B requires 5, and you kill 5, you only earn award B, NOT both. Therefore, it is not possible to get ALL awards at once. I don't know the exact quota for the awards are, but here's the general idea.

Mass Grave: Kill a large amount of terrorists. I believe it is not a set amount, but rather a percentage (most) of the total possible kills.

Heart Breaker: Kill most of the terrorists.

Mass Grave: Kill the vast majority of the terrorists.

None Shall Escape: Kill every single terrorist.

Precision Aim: Maintain a good accuracy percentage, like 80%.

Sniper: Maintain a great accuracy percentage, like 90%. However, I have gotten this on the Wii port with only 80 something.

Head Hunter: Shoot a lot of terrorists in the head. How many? I don't know since the Wii version has crappy hit detection, but it is at least 60.

Nut Cracker: Shoot a lot of terrorists in the groin. Not sure if females count. Again, no idea how many since the game doesn't count them for you.

Bone Breaker: Not sure. Shoot a lot of terrorists in the limbs (arms or legs)? I don't get this often.

Disemboweler: Not sure, but it seems to have to do with shooting people repeatedly as I often earn this along with Combo Champ.

Combo Champ: Earn a lot of combos, which means shoot a lot of people multiple times.

A Mere Flesh Wound: Only lose a few lives. However, I've had to continue and still earned this medal.

Invincible: Avoid getting hit more than twice or so. I know you can get shot once and still get it.

Savior Of Innocents: Don't kill ANY innocents.

Window Wrecker: Shatter a whole lotta windows.

Duke Of Destruction: Destroy 40 objects.

Regent Of Ruin: Destroy 70 objects.

Harbinger Of Havoc: Destroy 100 objects.

Just My Trusty Beretta: Don't grab any weapon powerups except Smart Bombs.

Weapon Sampler: Pick up several weapons powerups.

Powerup Hog: I would believe this is earned by picking up a lot of powerups. However, I think it may be for obtaining powerups ASAP.

Smooth Operator: I'm pretty sure this is awarded for never completely exhausting a clip.

Electrifying: Zap a few terrorists repeatedly with a Shocker. It has nothing to do with how many you can kill.

Whipping Boy: Continue more than once. This actually awards NEGATIVE points. Prior to playing the Wii port, I never saw this one.

POWERUPS:

Handgun: Not a powerup, so it doesn't have an icon. Not actually a powerup; this is your default weapon. A reliable sidearm with no special advantages or drawbacks. Can be reloaded (well, it would sure suck if you couldn't) and can never be lost. 10 bullets in a clip.

Shotgun: Identified by a green icon. Fires a bunch of pellets in a nice spread radius capable of hitting more than one target and giving you some slack on your aim. Can be reloaded, but you will probably lose this weapon if shot. However, there are some drawbacks... Not a fast firing weapon; if you pull the trigger really fast you'll notice the pause between shots. Also, the spread is a bit too wide. It is possible (though uncommon) to completely miss an enemy even though your shot was dead on. 8 shells in a clip.

Machine Gun: Identified by a red icon. Hold down the trigger for continuous firing. The clip is quite large (don't ask me exactly how many bullets are in a clip; you try counting and playing at the same time!), so go nuts. And yes, it can be reloaded, though you will probably lose it if shot. No real flaws otherwise. 27 bullets in a clip at my count.

Grenade Launcher: Identified by a blue icon. Blows enemies into tiny pieces. Grenades explode on impact and will kill anything within the blast (watch for innocents.) However, grenades are not instantaneous and need to reach their targets. Plus, they travel in an arc, so if your target area is far away, it will fall short unless you compensate. Each Grenade Launcher comes with 6 grenades.

Shocker: Identified by a purple icon. Zaps enemies, either fatally or not. If you shoot someone repeatedly, they will explode. No real advantages or disadvantages. Not instantaneous, but really close. Each Shocker comes with enough charge for 20 shots.

Flamethrower: Identified by an orange icon. Lights enemies on fire. Sprays fire in a good-sized hit area. Hold down the trigger for a continuous stream of fire. The flames have to reach their targets, so its not an instantaneous weapon. Also, 1 single flame is not enough to kill someone, so don't just quickly tap the button. If your screen sucks, you may be unable to hit bad guys on the edges of the screen. Due to the fuel supply, I'm not sure how many 'shots' you get, but since it takes more than a tip (that's less than a tap) to actually kill someone that screws the count. You have enough juice to kill about 10 guys.

RPG: Identified by a yellow icon. Rocket Propelled Grenade, for those of you not in the know. Blows enemies into tiny pieces. Very similar to the Grenade Launcher. Fires missiles which explode in a nice radius, taking out anyone (including innocents) unfortunate enough to be inside. A powerful weapon, even though you won't encounter many people who require more than a single shot. The missiles have to reach their targets though. Each RPG comes with 5 rockets.

Freeze Gun: Identified by a cyan (light blue) icon. Enemies hit by this become crystallized and melt. If shot again with any weapon, they shatter. Fun, but that's about all it's good for. Not instantaneous, but really close (about equal to the Shocker.) However, one really bad thing about this gun is that the enemies remain in place for a couple seconds and you can't see through them. You might be surprised to see a terrorist when the guy in front of him crumbles. Each Freezer comes with enough fuel for 20 shots.

Smart Bomb: A satellite icon with no box. Not your typical weapon pickup. When you pick one up, it is put aside to be called on whenever you like. To activate, hit the Start button. This will trigger a satellite (shown with a brief cutscene) to fire a beam down to earth, killing anyone on screen short of a helicopter (it WILL take off half of the lifebar though.) Note that there's still a brief moment from the time the beam touches ground to when the enemies get fried, so they might get in a shot or escape. Good one time only. Each player may carry only 1. You will keep this if you continue, but can't bring it into the next level. They appear somewhat at random and can have 2 different possible appearances. I've only seen one in an object before. Are there more?

Extra Life: Identified by a white icon, and a medikit. GET THESE! These add 1 life to your credit. The max number of lives you may have is 6.

BAD GUYS:

Generic Enemies: The cannon fodder. These guys and girls are everywhere. They attack with all sorts of firearms and even clubs, knives, and other shit. One shot drops any one of them.

Punchers: These guys suck. They pop up suddenly and try to punch you. However, these guys require 2 shots to put down. Many people forget this and get punched. Pump em' full of lead, just to be sure.

Rocket Launcher: These guys fire rockets, which come at you in a loopy spiraling motion. They fire a few rockets (usually 3) and then vanish.

Dynamite Thrower: Chucks dynamite at you, which travels pretty much straight at you with a slight arc. Easy to shoot down. Vanishes after throwing a few bundles.

Grenadier: Throws grenades at you. The grenades bounce as they come towards you and can be a real bitch to hit. Worse, there's really no way to tell if they will actually hit you or not. They disappear after a few grenades.

Knife Thrower: These guys throw knives at you. They can throw 1 or 2 at once, depending on how evil they are feeling. The knives travel fast. Again, they quickly vanish.

Nunchuck Guy: Very few of these dudes in the game. They pop up and swing their nunchucks around menacingly before striking. When they are swinging their weapons, they will deflect any bullets fired at them. Just wait and attack as soon as they drop their guard to attack.

MY TIPS:

Note the location of the Life powerups and be sure to grab them.

To be safe, don't shoot enemies multiple times. Hitting an enemy will keep him up (indefinitely?) and may net more points, but if an enemy jumps up directly behind a slain enemy, he will be shielded. Your choice.

Save Smart Bombs for helicopters. They're really not worth using on normal enemies. I've never really felt overwhelmed by a mob before.

GRAB THE LIVES! GRAB THE LIVES! GRAB THE LIVES!

On the subject of weapons... The Machine Gun is the best weapon (or, 73h u171/\/\4t3 \/\/34p0n!) Don't give it up for anything. The Shotgun is also a good weapon, but give it up for Rifle. The Shocker and Freeze Gun will also work (the latter slightly less so.) The Grenade Launcher and RPG are not really worth using. I enjoy grabbing one and blowing up the entire screen; of course NEVER give up a Machine Gun for one. The Flamethrower... well, sucks.

In short, the Handgun, Shotgun, and Machine Gun are the best weapons to use due to their instantaneous bullets. Believe me, it CAN cost you using a projectile. If you want to use them, go ahead. It don't matter to Jesus.

Learn to figure whether or not rockets, knives, or dynamite will hit you. If it is coming directly at you, yes, it will. If not, it will miss.

Taking out projectiles first is a good idea. They can often clear most (if not the entire) screen. However, this may backfire as guys with guns may hit you first. Just throwing the idea out there.

Did I mention to grab all the lives you can?

ABOUT THIS GUIDE:

I will not mention the appearance of individual terrorists. They are EVERYWHERE. There is a constant stream of them appearing. This is mainly meant to tell you of the secret rooms and where to find valuable powerups. Oh, and how to beat this game.
